Job DetailsJob Location: Precision Extrusion - Glens Falls - Glens Falls, NY 12801Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $23.00 - $28.00 Hourly Job Summary The primary responsibility of this position is to provide leadership and support for the daily work processes of assigned production lines. As part of this, the Mandrel Extrusion Crew Lead will be responsible for ensuring adherence to all company policies, manufacturing procedures, and work instruction. In addition, Crew Lead will work to support production schedule adherence and direct the focus on quality and safety within the production lines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Performing daily operator duties on Mandrel extrusion production lines, also other production lines as needed. Provide daily/weekly production schedules to assigned production lines with direction from management. Ensure all production orders are completed on time. Inform management of risks to the schedule while offering proactive resolutions so that corrective action can be taken. Ensure all product quality specifications are consistently met and quality focus remains high within extrusion production lines. Ensure that all manufacturing procedures, engineering drawings, and any other controlled documents are followed exactly as written. Provide/propose procedural updates when appropriate to maintain the viability of controlled documents. Ensure the DPR is accurate & legible for each work order. Provide proactive input for quality and productivity improvements to internal business partners. Act in a lead capacity for implementation of Lean manufacturing and 6S initiatives and supervise new work cells as necessary for Lean initiative compliance. Responsible as subject matter expert on mandrel extrusion product lines, from both a production output and technical standpoint. Maintain personal training record and oversee training compliance for all direct reports. Ensure accurate computer transactions for all material movements and production hours. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment (6S). Provide input to performance reviews and disciplinary actions. Resolve and disposition nonconformance (MRR) as assigned. Communicate with and assist management on material, equipment, maintenance, quality, and engineering needs for production lines. Promote the importance of a positive working environment and lead by example to maintain high morale level. Other activities may be assigned as required by management. QualificationsQualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree in Business or technical field preferred. 3+ years of medical device manufacturing/Extrusion experience; experience in a leadership capacity Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints. Must possess strong organizational and prioritization skills. Adaptability to changing needs and general flexibility to meet production demands. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comprehensive understanding of processes and procedures within a extrusion manufacturing production environment. Must possess basic mathematical acumen.   Physical Demands Continual lifting up to 50 lbs. gripping, finger dexterity, and hand/eye coordination is required throughout the shift. Able to stand and walk during the course of an 8-hour shift. Must be able to wear eye protection for 8 hours. Good vision with the ability to distinguish colors. Work Environment Exposure to noise. Safety equipment such as eye protective eyewear is required, however hearing protection is optional and both are provided by the company Manufacturing, warehouse and clean room environments.
