At Glens Falls Hospital, you do more than serve food — you deliver comfort, care, and healing. As a Dietary Clerk, you are a vital part of our patient care team. This position is accountable for receiving and responding to requests for meal service for patients. You will be trained to accomplish menu management, utilizing computer software programs. Ongoing communication with telephone and computer technology will ensure patients have met their nutritional needs.

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential (Responsibilities)
Coordinate and process provider orders for diets and supplemental feedingsÂ
Independently communicates with nursing units via phone or clinical information system: receives calls and processes phone messages and transitions to the appropriate personnel, prepares the appropriate meal tray ticket and dispenses to the production staff for preparation needs
Audits meal tickets for accuracy with diet ordersÂ
Manages reports of clinical and production areas; generates various reports from department specific computer software program, identifies reports needed on a daily basis and distributes accordingly
Utilizes DFM software and electronic tablets in assisting patient with daily bedside menu selectionsÂ

What You Bring to the Team (Qualifications/Experience)
Education:Â High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred (but not required)
Experience:Â Customer service or food service experience is a plus, but not required
Language & Math: Must be able to read, write, and understand English, alongside basic computer skills
People Skills:Â A warm personality capable of connecting with patients, guests, and coworkers
Eager to Learn: Ability to grasp dietary orders independently and proficiency in computer programs /Â department basics within 2 weeks.
