How You Will Fulfill Your Potential (Responsibilities)

  • Conduct evaluations for inpatients and outpatients of all ages according to clinical protocols and guidelines. Consistently provide education to patients and families regarding their condition/treatment.

  • Provide therapy for patients of all ages consistent with clinical guidelines and protocols. Monitor and modify the treatment plan and goals as indicated by treatment response, monitor equipment use and safety, record patient charges.

  • Maintain appropriate, timely documentation including evaluation reports, daily progress notes, progress updates and discharge summaries.

  • Provide direct supervision in Speech Pathology students, aides and volunteers as delegated.

  • Participate in program planning and development for the department, interdisciplinary promotional activities and orientation of new staff. 

  • Train or mentor new and existing staff in daily operations or special techniques for patient care as needed.                

 

What You Bring (Qualifications)

  • Education: MS, MA or M Ed degree or higher in Speech Pathology/Communication Disorders from a NYS Department of Education accredited program or ASHA accredited program. 

  • Licensure: NYS license in Speech Pathology, Valid Driver’s License

  • Certifications:  Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology from ASHA. Current BLS Certification (or obtained at time of hire)
