Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs for school bus operations
Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards
Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and state-specific regulations
Investigate collisions/incidents and implement corrective actions
Deliver safety training for drivers and operational staff
Administer and monitor compliance with DOT/FMCSA drug and alcohol testing programs
Maintain accurate safety records and prepare regulatory reports
Collaborate with operations teams to address safety concerns promptly
Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to drivers and staff to reinforce safe behaviors
Promote a strong safety culture through meetings, communications, and engagement activities
Deliver CDL and non‑CDL driver training, including behind‑the‑wheel instruction, skills evaluations, and classroom sessions
Qualifications
3–5 years of transportation safety management experience (school bus or transit preferred)
In-depth knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, and state-specific regulations
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements preferred
Familiarity with telematics systems and safety reporting tools
