Job DetailsJob Location: Park Center - Glenview, IL 60026Position Type: Part Time“Recreate” a better life with a career in the field of Parks & Recreation!” JOB SUMMARY Glenview Park District is looking to hire lifeguard staff to work at Splash Landings Indoor Aquatic Center located at Park Center. In this role you will be responsible for performing the following essential functions, but not limited to: Maintain a safe aquatic operation with prevention techniques which include constant surveillance, enforcing pool rules and responding to emergencies with proper care Acts as first responder to all minor and medical emergencies at Park Center and is expected to provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services (EMS) Provide a safe, healthy, enjoyable experience for all swimmers by: enforcing pool rules in a firm but pleasant way, being helpful and friendly to patrons, and being aware and alert at all times while on the job. Keep lifeguard skills at a proficient and well-practiced level by attending 4 hours of lifeguard training per month. Other duties as assigned by the Pool Manager, Aquatic Supervisor and Aquatic Manager.   REQUIREMENTS Must be at least 15 years of age or older (work permit required for 15-year-olds) Glenview Park District will train and certified through StarGuard Elite before the first day of work Pass a swim assessment: swim 200 yards without resting, tread water without using your hands for two minutes, and retrieve a 10-pound brick from a depth of six (6) feet SCHEDULING & PAY This is a part-time position hiring both year-round at Splash Landings Indoor Pool Flexible scheduling is available, with opportunities to work: Weekday mornings and afternoons (5:30am-7am, 7am-11am, 11am-4pm)* Weekday evenings (4-8pm) Saturdays and Sundays (7am-10am, 10am-1pm, 1-5pm) Lifeguards rate begin at the following rates: $18.75/hour for year-round weekdays from 5:00am-4:00pm $17/hour for weekends and weekday afternoons Numerous internal benefits and incentives offered which includes complimentary fitness membership to Park Center Health and Fitness, Indoor and Outdoor Pool Membership, Dog Park and Ice Center Membership.
