Position Overview
The Plant Controller is a key financial leader responsible for overseeing all accounting, reporting, and financial operations at the facility. This role partners closely with plant and corporate finance leadership to drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing finance experience, a hands-on approach, and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all accounting and financial reporting activities, including month-end and year-end close processesÂ
- Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAPÂ
- Develop and manage standard costing processes within a manufacturing environmentÂ
- Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly production and KPI reportsÂ
- Partner with plant leadership to support operational and strategic planning initiativesÂ
- Support treasury activities in collaboration with the corporate finance teamÂ
- Coordinate the preparation of monthly management reporting packagesÂ
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting activitiesÂ
- Analyze financial results, monitor performance against budget, and provide actionable insightsÂ
- Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functionsÂ
- Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as neededÂ
- Monitor parts warehouse procedures and inventory controls
This role will play a critical part in strengthening internal controls, enhancing financial processes, and driving continuous improvement across systems and reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environmentÂ
- 4+ years of leadership or supervisory experienceÂ
- Experience in a mid-sized public or private company environmentÂ
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance requiredÂ
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferredÂ
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisÂ
- Strong technical skills, including advanced Excel and familiarity with ERP systems and database toolsÂ
- Knowledge of local and federal tax practices
