What You'll Do

As an SLP at The Arc Lexington, you will provide high-quality, person-centered services while elevating the communication skills of the entire care team:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, communication, and swallowing
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with each person's goals
  • Provide engaging, functional therapy that supports real-world communication
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes
  • Train and mentor staff in communication strategies, adaptive supports, and safe swallowing practices
  • Participate in team meetings, home visits, and program consultations
  • Design supports that integrate communication into everyday life-not just therapy sessions

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • New York State SLP license or eligibility (Clinical Fellows encouraged to apply)
  • Experience with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred, but not required
  • Valid New York State driver's license and reliable transportation
