Prototype Fabricator

Responsibilities:

 

  • Produce prototype parts from raw materials per print specifications.
  • Must be able to understand and use all forms of fabrication equipment including
  • but not limited to: shears, press brakes, CNC and manual mills, CNC lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, cut off and band saws and all equipment available to them.
  • Properly inspect parts.
  • Work with Prototype Department leadership on relaying information about the status and completion of jobs and improvements for the department.
  • Work with AME’s & Product Design Engineers giving recommendations for DFM (Design For Manufacturing)
  • Occasionally attend educational seminars on new and existing machining / fabrication processes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas (5S).
  • Perform other related duties as required.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and have inspection knowledge of how to properly inspect parts using micrometers, verniers, height gages, and other measuring devices.
  • Previous or current machining experience.
  • Possess mechanical aptitude.
  • Fluent in the use of computers.
  • Interpersonal communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • CAM & CAD software experience preferred.
  • Precision machining experience preferred.
  • Press brake set-up and operation preferred.
