Loading / Yard Hand Job Description

Position Summary

The Loader / Ground Maintenance Associate is responsible for supporting daily yard operations by loading and unloading products, staging inventory, preparing deliveries, and maintaining a clean, organized, and professional yard environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring both internal team members and customers receive a five-star experience through accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.  This role also supports the overall appearance and upkeep of the facility grounds to ensure a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for employees and customers.  

Key Responsibilities

Loading & Product Handling:

• Load and unload incoming trailers and trucks safely and efficiently.  
• Move, organize, and stage finished welded products throughout the yard.
• Act as an additional quality checkpoint to help ensure all products meet company quality and completion standards before shipment.  
• Prepare customer loads and delivery orders for upcoming shipments.
• Support inventory counts of finished products stored outside.

Yard Maintenance & Facility Appearance

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard at all times.
• Ensure front customer-facing areas remain professional and presentable.
• Perform mowing, weed eating, trash removal, and general grounds maintenance in varying weather conditions.
• Use backpack blowers, brooms, and other tools to remove debris from concrete and work areas.
• Cut wood, grind materials, cap products, and cut dunnage or pallets as needed using approved equipment.

General Support

• Support additional departments and operational needs as assigned.
• Help maintain efficiency and organization across production and logistics operations.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well with team members.
• Ability to read and interpret customer orders.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong discipline and accuracy to double-check work and product counts.
• Forklift experience preferred. / Valid driver's license required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and move products weighing up to 75 pounds as needed.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and operate equipment throughout the workday.

Position Details

• Full-time position  /  Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
