Saint Anselm College, a liberal arts college in the Benedictine tradition, is seeking a full-time, year-round Assistant Director, Alumni Relations and Advancement Programming.  Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Alumni Relations and Operations, the primary function of the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations and Advancement Programming is to develop and cultivate alumni volunteers and networks, which directly increase meaningful alumni engagement and annual giving participation. The Assistant Director is responsible for developing and managing volunteer committees and assisting with the activities of Regional Alumni Networks and its volunteers. 

The Assistant Director of Alumni Relations and Engagement plays a key role in cultivating and sustaining alumni involvement through volunteer engagement initiatives. This position focuses on recruiting, supporting, and stewarding alumni volunteers across multiple programs, including regional networks, golf committees, reunion committees, and student-alumni engagement efforts. The Assistant Director works closely with alumni, volunteers, and campus partners to strengthen connections to the College.

The Assistant Director of Alumni Relations and Advancement Programming will manage and oversee Regional Network Steering committees and alumni volunteers. In collaboration with the Alumni Relations Coordinator, may oversee the work of student interns and work-studies on Network or Council related projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and support alumni volunteer programs
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Student Alumni Association
  • Recruit, train, and steward current and prospective alumni volunteers
  • Implement the volunteer handbook/volunteer summit to further engage and retain volunteers.
  • Travel to meet with alumni volunteers and prospects, attend regional events, and support committee meetings as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Alumni Relations and Engagement and other Advancement colleagues to align volunteer efforts with institutional priorities.
  • Build stronger partnerships with college departments and offices, including the Office of Career Services and the Office of Student Services, as well as well as academic departments, to help bridge and enhance alumni relationships.
  • Assist with volunteer-driven events and programs
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer involvement and provide regular updates and reports on engagement activity.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years demonstrated expertise in building relationships, event management, and fund raising. Demonstrated ability to engage, motivate, and work effectively with volunteers. Excellent interpersonal, social, and communication skills, both written and verbal. This individual must be available to work some nights and weekends, as well as travel beyond New England to attend events and meet with alumni. The successful candidate must show an enthusiasm for the mission of Catholic undergraduate liberal arts education and actively support the vision of Saint Anselm College.
