A Real Path Toward Becoming a Service Electrician

As your knowledge and experience grow, so will your responsibilities.

You’ll begin by working alongside licensed electricians and assisting with installations, repairs, troubleshooting, and service calls. As you demonstrate competence, you'll be expected to perform increasingly complex work with appropriate supervision.

Over time, you'll learn the entire residential service process — from diagnosing a problem through completing the repair and explaining the solution to the homeowner.

The goal is clear:

Apprentice → Licensed Electrician → Residential Service Electrician

For someone who wants to learn and is willing to put in the work, there is significant opportunity to grow with the company.

Mountain Work Is Part of the Territory

In addition to Golden and surrounding communities, we service Summit County and Vail, and our electricians typically head into the mountains approximately once per week on average.

That means you'll gain experience working on a wide variety of homes and electrical systems — from older foothills properties to newer mountain homes.

If you enjoy mountain drives, cooler summer temperatures, and working in some of Colorado's most beautiful communities, that's a definite upside.

Our company vehicles represent the business everywhere they go, so employees entrusted with them are expected to drive safely and professionally and maintain them appropriately.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Electrical Apprentice, you'll work under the supervision of licensed electricians while learning to:

• Troubleshoot residential electrical systems
• Install and replace receptacles, switches, lighting, and electrical devices
• Install new circuits and wiring
• Assist with electrical panel replacements and upgrades
• Install EV charging circuits and equipment
• Install whole-home surge protection
• Assist with generators and backup-power solutions
• Perform grounding and bonding work
• Identify electrical safety and code concerns
• Use meters and diagnostic equipment properly
• Read electrical diagrams, equipment specifications, and applicable electrical codes
• Protect customers' homes while working
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and vehicles
• Communicate professionally with homeowners
• Document work using our field-service software
• Learn how experienced Service Electricians diagnose problems and develop solutions

You'll be exposed to the complete residential service process rather than spending every day performing one repetitive task.

You do not need to know everything yet.

Requirements

• Registered Colorado Electrical Apprentice, or ability and willingness to become registered
• Genuine interest in becoming a licensed electrician
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass a background check
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of residential electrical work, including ladders, crawlspaces, attics, lifting, and working outdoors
• Comfortable working with hand tools and learning electrical test equipment
• Comfortable using an iPad and mobile technology
• Strong commitment to safety
• Professional appearance and communication
• Reliable transportation to the designated starting location when required
• Previous electrical experience is helpful, but not required for the right candidate

Compensation & Benefits

$21–$30 per hour, based on electrical experience and demonstrated skill
