JOB SUMMARY
The Oil & Lube Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of heavy mobile and plant equipment through expert lubrication and fluid management. This role involves performing scheduled oil changes, fluid sampling, and preventive maintenance tasks while maintaining strict compliance with safety and environmental standards.
The Technician performs cross-functional duties in both maintenance and equipment operation, including greasing, lubricating, and assisting with general plant repairs and housekeeping. Operates mobile equipment as needed to support plant operations and ensure safe, efficient production. The Technician serves as a critical link in equipment reliability, reducing downtime and supporting production efficiency.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform oil changes, grease applications, and fluid top-offs on mobile and stationary equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections of lubrication systems and identify wear or contamination issues.
- Use standard operating procedures to troubleshoot malfunctions and create a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem
- Maintain accurate records of fluid usage, service intervals, and sampling results.
- Performs annual inspections, evaluations and repairs. Maintains an accurate schedule and legible record of equipment and vehicle maintenance logs and reports.
- Order parts for mobile and fixed plant equipment
- Adhere to MSHA compliance/regulations and company safety policies.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of oils and lubricants in compliance with environmental standards.
- Conducts light repairs of all types of equipment as required to ensure proper working condition; dismantle and reassemble/rebuild equipment as required.
- Maintains good housekeeping and cleanliness in all work areas.
- Cross-trains in other plant areas to support operational flexibility.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or Supervisor.
- In addition to the primary responsibilities outlined, the successful candidate may be expected to take on other tasks and assignments as required, including but not limited to duties outside the typical scope of the role to support overall team operations and organizational needs. Flexibility and adaptability to evolving job demands are essential.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
Work Experience
1+ years of related experience in Lubrication Services, Heavy Equipment Maintenance, or Industrial Maintenance preferred.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for plant maintenance and equipment servicing.
- Required to bend, stoop, climb, and reach. You must be able to maintain three points of contact when climbing on/off machinery or on ladders.
- Strong hand-eye-foot coordination is essential for operating hand/foot controls. You must have good depth perception with or without seeing aid for distances up to 150 feet.
Working Conditions
All duties require outside assignments and require periods of work in all weather conditions, cold, wet, dry and dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs.
COMPENSATION
The hiring range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00 exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The hiring range for this role represents the base compensation we expect to pay for the position at time of hire and does not represent the total possible base pay of the position.
