Job DetailsJob Location: Klickitat Valley Health - GOLDENDALE, WA 98620Position Type: Full Time 40 hours/wkSalary Range: $19.37 - $23.63 HourlyJob Shift: Varied ShiftsGENERAL SUMMARY: The Environmental Technician provides custodial service to KVH by maintaining the hospital’s facilities in a clean, healthful, and sanitary condition, including all work areas/surfaces, but not limited to restrooms, walls, floors, equipment, etc. The technician also provides the linen support needed by both patients and staff. The Technician is aware of the potential exposure to internal and external hazardous materials and infectious diseases, including but not limited to blood and blood-borne pathogens, infectious/communicable diseases, potential physical injury, well caring for patients. Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education, Training & Experience (includes licenses or certifications): Education: High school diploma or GED required. Experience: Previous custodial/janitorial experience preferred. QualificationsGENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs general cleaning of health care areas, non-patient care areas, clinical settings, and other areas as deemed necessary. Cleans at various levels as defined by department policy and practice, such as: light cleaning, terminal cleaning, surgery suite cleaning, and Family Medicine clinic cleaning. ( is the responsibility of housekeeping) Cleans all surfaces, such as, but not limited to: rest rooms, walls, hard and soft surface floors, furniture, and patient equipment such as: beds, bed side stands, IV polls, etc. Performs floor care, such as: dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, shampooing, scrubbing and buffing. Provides linen distribution/handling, such as: preparing for transportation, stocking, folding, etc. Disposes of garbage and bio waste material, including recycling the housekeeping department cardboard. Reports to management and removes any safety hazards. Participates in safety and equipment training. Participate annually in Fire, Safety, Hazardous Materials, MSDS, and other trainings as directed. Effectively communicate with fellow employees, directors/managers, and physicians, etc. Performs other duties as assigned.
