Job Summary:        

As the Supply Chain Planning Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in supporting a fast-paced manufacturing operation that produces hoses and couplings for Caterpillar's Building Construction Products division and external OEM customers. This position is responsible for leading supply chain planning, procurement, materials management, and inventory strategies that ensure operational excellence, on-time delivery, and alignment with business objectives.

Reporting directly to the Facility Manager, you will lead a team responsible for production planning, procurement, material master management, and overall supply chain performance while partnering closely with operations, engineering, quality, maintenance, and commercial teams. This role will be instrumental in sustaining the site's recent operational transformation, driving continuous improvement initiatives, strengthening planning processes, and building a high-performing organization capable of meeting customer demand in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who can balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution, develop strong cross-functional partnerships, and inspire teams to achieve results through clear direction, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead supply chain planning, procurement, inventory management, and material flow activities for a high-volume manufacturing facility.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, quality, and commercial teams to align production plans with customer demand and business priorities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service levels, inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term supply chain strategies to support business growth and operational objectives.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team while establishing clear ownership, accountability, and leadership across key supply chain functions.
  • Identify and address supply chain risks, capacity constraints, and material availability challenges to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Use data and analytics to drive decision-making, improve planning accuracy, and support business performance.

Education requirement: Candidates should possess a Bachelors degree or demonstrate equivalent knowledge through professional expertise.

What skills you will have:

Accuracy & Attention to Detail: Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly operations with the ability to align supply chain strategies to production requirements. Experience supporting high-volume production environments involving assembly, machining, or related industrial processes is highly desired.

Data Gathering & Analysis: Track record of identifying inefficiencies, driving process improvements, and delivering measurable business results. Ability to leverage data, KPIs, SAP, and other ERP systems to improve planning accuracy, inventory performance, operational efficiency, and customer service levels.

Inventory Management: Proven experience leading planning, forecasting, procurement, inventory control, and material flow activities within a manufacturing environment. Ability to balance customer demand, production capacity, and supplier performance to ensure material availability and on-time delivery. Experience utilizing SAP to support inventory management, material planning, and supply chain operations.

Effective Communication: Demonstrated success leading and developing supply chain teams, including planners, buyers, inventory, or materials management professionals. Experience building accountability, coaching talent, and creating strong partnerships across operations, engineering, quality, and maintenance functions.

This position requires the candidate to work onsite five days a week at the Goldsboro, NC facility.

Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.

This position may require up to 10% travel.

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00
