General Description:

A Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor聽 serves as leaders and supporters that impart knowledge and help those who struggle with addiction build a specific plan to overcome dependency based on individual needs. The CADC will use the Twelve Core Functions which includes screening, intake, orientation, assessment, treatment planning, counseling, case management, crisis intervention, client education, report and record keeping, consultation with other professionals regarding client treatment and services, and referral to treat addictive disorder or disease and help prevent relapse.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

路 Develop treatment plans and goals for the members on assigned caseload.

路 Document service notes that reflect SACOT/SAIOP clinical services are provided appropriately to the goals in the PCP; keep and maintain detailed treatment and progress notes.

路 Ensure compliance with Policy and Procedures regarding member safety and member rights.

路 Provide one on one counseling and case management sessions.

路 Facilitate and co-facilitate group counseling and educational sessions, under supervision.

路 Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to members, when appropriate.

路 Demonstrate an attitude of acceptance of diversity with staff and members.

路 Ensure all documentation regarding member care, treatment and incidents is completed timely and in clear, concise manner.

路 Responsible oversight of caseload regarding continuity of service, appropriate use of referrals, maintenance of authorization, collaboration with others on client's behalf, and other clinically and ethically significant practices.

路 Participation in weekly staffing meetings and supervision meetings.

路 May provide case management duties for members, ensuring individualized quality care.

路 Perform other duties as assigned.

Non-negotiables:

  • Preferred: Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) credential or registered with the NC Addiction Specialist Professional Practice Board and 2 years of addiction counseling experience聽(Required)
  • Master's degree in a human services field + 1 year of post-graduate MH/DD/SA experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree in a human services field + 2 years of post-bachelor's MH/DD/SA experience; or
  • Bachelor's degree in a non-human services field + 4 years of post-bachelor's MH/DD/SA experience; or
  • Licensed, provisionally licensed, certified, registered, or permitted professional who meets NC Qualified Professional (QP) requirements.

  • Monday to Friday
  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Night shift
