Description of Work
This position provides Occupational Therapy services to patients throughout the hospital. The Occupational Therapy Assistant {OTA) implements, coordinates, and monitors interventions according to each patient's treatment plan in collaboration with the OTR. The role is primarily based on the Hope & Wellness Center's treatment mall but also includes group and 1:1 intervention across the hospital. OTAs support screening and rating patients' performance and participation when they enter treatment mall groups. They develop individual goals and interventions that are integrated into each patient's treatment plan. OTAs collaborate with OT providers to determine effective approaches, strategies, and modalities and assist with discharge planning. They may also provide physical dysfunction services, including adaptive equipment, wheelchair and splint use, and ADL training, and must participate in supervision with an OTR per NC OT Board requirements.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Range: $52,848 - $79,272

- Ā Basic knowledge of occupational therapy principles, techniques, methods, modalities and their proper application.
- Skill in psychosocial group treatment planning and implementation.
- Skill in gauging patient progress through musculature, psychosocial, and sensory evaluation, goal attainments and other general patient progress.
- Ability to work effectively with patients of various ages, developmental and functional abilities, medical conditions, psychiatric conditions, mental competence and physical disabilities.
- Ability to effectively communicate patient progress to other interdisciplinary team members, such as physical therapists, physicians, nursing staff, social workers, etc.
This Position Is Exempt And Is EXEMPT From Certain Provisions Of The State Human Resources Act (GS 126)
This Position Is Designated as Mandatory and Must Report or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.
