Part time Cook

We are hiring PART TIME COOK!

Dixon Social Interactive Services, Inc. (DSIS) is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Part-time Cook to prepare nutritious meals for program participants. If you have a passion for food service, enjoy working independently, and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness, we'd love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals in a safe, sanitary, and timely manner.
• Follow approved menus and dietary guidelines provided by DSIS.
• Practice proper food handling, storage, preparation, and serving procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, including equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Accommodate dietary restrictions and special nutritional needs as directed.
• Complete meal preparation, service, and cleanup within scheduled hours.
• Communicate effectively with the Site Manager regarding kitchen operations and meal service.

Schedule

• Monday – Friday
• Typical Hours: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM (schedule may vary based on site needs)
• Schedule coordinated with the Site Manager.

Compensation

• $15.00 per hour
• Up to 2 hours per day
• Maximum of $600 per month
• Payments are issued by the last business day of each month upon submission of an approved invoice.
• No additional reimbursements unless pre-approved in writing.

Qualifications

• Valid ServSafe Food Handler Certification (required before starting or within 7 business days of contract start)
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices.
• Ability to follow established meal plans and preparation instructions.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while following site procedures and expectations.

Additional Requirements

• Successfully pass a drug screening, criminal background check, and sexual offender registry check.
• Maintain an active ServSafe Food Handler Certification throughout the contract period.
• Carry general liability insurance (proof may be required).

Work Arrangement

This is an Independent Contractor position. Contractors are not considered employees of Dixon Social Interactive Services, Inc. and are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and other contractor-related obligations.
