SUMMARY:Â
Under the general guidance of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommend and lead improvements to production processes, methods, tooling and equipment. Identifies and recommends cost saving changes to existing products. Leads manufacturing launches for new or revised products. Manages various Engineering projects such as ECO, continuous improvement and Corrective Actions. Priorities include process development and improvement, problem resolution, project management and operator training.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates in New Product Development teams with DFM input, while leading process, tooling and equipment selection.
- Analyze labor and BOM costs and ensure cost targets are met.
- Owns the creation and maintenance of controlled manufacturing files such as Work Instructions, BOMs, etc
- Ensures Product Routers and BOMs are accurate and up to date in the ERP system
- Design, build and validate work holding fixtures and tooling for production processes
- Research, and implement new equipment new acquisitions
- Develop test plans for certified life-safety products
- Design and improve manufacturing workcell layouts and throughput
- Perform process time studies and balance production lines
- Lead Non-conformance, Corrective Action and Root Cause Analysis projects
- Manage ECO projects for product changes
- Identify and eliminate non-value added steps in manufacturing processes
- Investigate and correct issues with production equipment
- Source machine parts and consumables for production equipment
- Provide technical support to the production floor for Manufacturing issue resolution
- Some travel may be required
REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLSÂ
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement
- Knowledge of CAD/CAE Engineering tools, specifically SolidWorks.
- Experience using hand and shop tools
- Strong ability to fabricate tools and jigs
- Familiarity with 3D printing, laser cutting
- Experience with inspection tools, caliper, micrometer, gauge pins, etc.
- Working Knowledge of ERP systems
- Proficiency in MS office software
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawing
- Experience with Non-conformance, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Actions
- Excellent time management and progress reporting skills
- Comfortable in fast paced manufacturing environment
- U.S Passport required
DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLSÂ
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
- Sewn Goods experience
- Experience with automation, controls and programming
QUALIFICATIONSÂ (Education and experience)Â
- Bachelor of Science Degree engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of work experience in an Operations/Manufacturing environment

Working conditions are in a normal office and manufacturing floor environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; sit and stand; using the hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally, the employee must crouch or kneel. The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 30 pounds. Successful performance requires good eyesight with or without corrective lens. Requires long periods of time working at a computer.
