Overview

As an Applications Laboratory Support Specialist, you will perform essential laboratory operations while supporting application development for light scattering instruments and related Waters products. This role is ideal for early‑career scientific professionals who enjoy hands‑on lab work and are passionate about enabling customer success and product excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, including light scattering systems and related equipment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for ordering laboratory supplies and receiving customer samples.
  • Coordinate safe handling and disposal of laboratory waste in partnership with HSE.
  • Resolve routine laboratory and instrument issues; coordinate service visits and preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Conduct routine laboratory experiments and standardized procedures to support application development.
  • Accurately document experimental procedures, observations, and results.
  • Support cross functional teams with instrument setup, sample preparation, and testing activities.
  • Assist with internal and external training activities.
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers on feasibility studies and product soak testing.
  • Provide input on opportunities to improve laboratory workflows, organization, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary degree in a scientific or technical discipline.
  • Familiarity with laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and standard lab practices.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Experience working in a scientific, technical, or laboratory environment preferred.
