Job DetailsJob Location: 460 Hollywood Ave - Carneys Point, NJ 08069Position Type: InternshipSalary Range: $20.00 - $20.00 HourlyThe Student Ambassador & Podcast Studio Assistant Intern serves as a representative of Salem Community College's Workforce Development Department. This position is responsible for promoting workforce development programs and events, engaging with prospective and newly enrolled students, supporting marketing initiatives, and assisting with the daily operations of the college's podcast studio. The intern will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment for students, community members, and visitors while helping increase awareness of Workforce Development opportunities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Student Ambassador Responsibilities Represent Salem Community College's Workforce Development Department at campus and community events. Promote upcoming workforce development programs, workshops, events, and enrollment opportunities through in-person outreach and digital platforms. Engage with prospective high school students, parents, and community members to share information about educational and career pathway opportunities. Welcome and assist newly enrolled students by providing information about available workforce development resources and services. Participate in recruitment events, open houses, career fairs, and community outreach activities. Serve as a positive role model and professional representative of Salem Community College. Marketing and Communications Support Assist with creating and distributing promotional materials for workforce development programs and events. Support social media campaigns by capturing photos, videos, and content for marketing purposes. Help increase awareness of Workforce Development initiatives through digital and face-to-face engagement. Provide input on student-focused marketing strategies and outreach efforts. Assist with event planning, setup, and promotion. Podcast Studio Operations Serve as an on-site monitor for the Workforce Development Podcast Studio. Manage studio schedules and track authorized use of the facility. Greet and check in studio users, ensuring proper access and usage procedures are followed. Maintain sign-in and sign-out records for studio visitors and guests. Assist users with basic studio setup and ensure equipment is properly maintained and organized. Monitor studio activities and communicate facility or equipment concerns to supervisors. Ensure the podcast studio remains in a safe, professional, and welcoming environment. Administrative Support Assist with workforce development, event logistics, and registration activities. Maintain accurate records and communication logs as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Workforce Development team. QualificationsQualifications Required Current student enrolled at Salem Community College. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Comfortable speaking with prospective students, families, and community members. Dependable, professional, and able to work independently. Basic computer and social media skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions. Preferred Interest in marketing, communications, workforce development, education, media production, or community engagement. Experience with social media content creation. Familiarity with podcasting, audio/video production, or studio environments. Previous customer service, leadership, or ambassador experience. Skills and Competencies Public speaking and presentation skills. Customer service and relationship building. Event promotion and outreach. Marketing and social media engagement. Physical Requirements Ability to move between campus locations and event sites. Ability to lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds for event setup and promotional activities.
