Job DetailsJob Location: Gonzales, TX 78629Company Overview Livestock Nutrition Center specializes in blending customized rations, supplements and premixes to meet the specific nutritional needs of Livestock Producer's operations. We understand that management, performance objectives and feeding practices can be vastly different between operations, and that these differences dictate specific nutritional or formulation requirements. Our experienced sales staff and nutritionist will work with the Producer to design a feeding program that is specific to their operation. Mission Statement Our Mission is to add value to the suppliers and end users in the feed ingredient supply chain through distribution, processing and service. Guiding Principle Our focus is to provide customized feeding programs, nutritional products, and expert service to livestock producers that promote their long-term success and profitability. QualificationsPosition Summary The Operations Supervisor is responsible for assisting local management in the operation and processing of the facility and truck fleet and will oversee various maintenance tasks. This individual will assist in overseeing the local maintenance, production, and driver teams. Responsibilities & Duties Work with sales team and CSR for load assignment & execute the LNC Perfect Delivery Experience initiative. Train all drivers to ensure they have the skills and attitude to carry out this commitment to the customer. Manage Driver HOS exceptions Maintain the Company's safety culture to include daily driver safety messages, monthly driver safety briefings, quarterly driver training, annual reviews, and enforce company policies.  Work with drivers, customers, and company personnel to resolve service issues, routing and/or planning, mechanical problems, etc. as they occur throughout the day and, where necessary, when on call.   Work with location operations team to manage LNC equipment including checking/inspecting equipment, replace parts (ex. mud flaps), coordinating complete repairs with mechanics and repair shops, etc. and coordinate with maintenance to ensure all regular preventative maintenance services are scheduled on time and all safety related mechanical issues are fixed for LNC equipment. (Monitor Fleet Pal to ensure timely repairs and service.) Perform administrative duties such as payroll, management of the transportation Net-Revenue budget, driver counseling, accident reviews, filing and documenting, resolving pay issues, invoicing and/or creating operational reports. Conduct training and orientation of drivers and/or employees including the training and assistance with LNC personnel. Implement Standard Operating Procedures, including all necessary training for production/processing and maintenance personnel at the feed mill Conduct regular inspections including audits of facilities and equipment to identify areas for improvement and compliance with health and safety regulations Plan and schedule preventative and corrective maintenance work Ensure all maintenance work is documented and reported correctly utilizing computer-based PM programs, daily plant reports, and participating in Teams meetings. Assist with the necessary QA/QC programs, including FSMA compliance Ensure timely ordering and receiving of ingredients for production needs by communicating daily and weekly ingredient needs to the Location Facility Manager and procurement team Ensure proper mixing of all feeds Assist in managing raw material inventories to assure accurate measurements, control shrink and maintain product in merchantable condition Monitor inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies Manage the maintenance budget to ensure cost efficiency, while maintaining high standards of equipment and facility upkeep. Develop and maintain relationships with external contractors and suppliers to acquire high-quality services and materials for maintenance projects. Assist in coordinating feed delivery schedules with the Location Facility Manager and/or Production Manager, and production team. Respond promptly to emergency situations involving equipment breakdowns, mitigating potential hazards, and/or process interruptions. Educate, implement, and strictly enforce all LNC Safety and Compliance procedures and programs at the facility. Ensure the facility appearance and all personnel represent LNC in a professional manner. Any other tasks as assigned from time to time by management. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor of Science degree; Agricultural, Mechanical, Industrial degree paths preferred Root cause analysis (RCA) Lean manufacturing principles. Reliability-centered maintenance (RCM). KPI tracking (MTTR= Mean Time to Repair, MTBF = Mean Time Between Failures, PM = Preventive Maintenance compliance) Strong sense of Customer Service with both internal and external customers. Strong understanding of mechanical systems and relevant maintenance techniques. Ability to identify root causes of problems and implement effective solutions. Dedication to team environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast and ever-changing environment. Demonstrate the ability to lead teams by example. Safety oriented mindset, OSHA or similar training. Basic understanding of GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) of Feed Manufacturing. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and work efficiently under pressure. Experience in developing, managing, and controlling budgets.
