1) Purpose of Role

Lead day-to-day field execution for electrical site/underground scopes. Plan and sequence work; direct crews and subcontractors; coordinate equipment, materials, and logistics; and ensure all work meets contract scope, drawings/specifications, schedule milestones, cost targets, and GTI safety/quality standards. Serve as the on-site point for issue resolution, documentation, and communication with Project Management and the client.


2) Scope & Decision Rights

Own day-to-day field plans, subcontractor coordination, jobsite documentation in Procore, and adjustments for weather, supply, or resourcing—partnering with PMs for cost control and schedule adherence.


3) Essential Duties and Standards

Owns:

  • Daily/weekly look-ahead planning, crew assignments, and resource allocation (labor, equipment, materials).
  • Jobsite safety leadership and compliance (OSHA 29 CFR 1926); conduct JSAs, enforce permits, housekeeping, and traffic control.
  • Field quality control: verification of grades/layout, trenching/backfill, compaction, formwork/rebar, and concrete placement.
  • Procore documentation: daily logs, photos, inspections, RFIs/submittals routing with PM/PE/Preconstruction support.
  • Productivity tracking and percent-complete reporting; recovery plans when targets are missed.
  • Vendor/supplier coordination for deliveries, laydown, site access, and logistics.

Supports:

  • Project Manager with schedule updates, change events, and cost control inputs.
  • Project Engineer with RFIs, submittals, as-builts, and closeout documentation.
  • Client/GC communication regarding access, sequencing, and inspections.

Recommends/Prepares:

  • Field-driven optimizations to sequencing, means/methods, and equipment usage to hit schedule and budget.
  • Change documentation (T&M tags, quantity impacts) and look-ahead adjustments to mitigate risk.
  • Training/coaching plans to raise crew capability and safe production.

Escalates:

  • Safety incidents/near misses, utility conflicts, and significant plan/spec discrepancies.
  • Schedule or cost risks beyond superintendent control, including chronic vendor delays.
  • Contract scope conflicts and client access constraints that threaten milestones.


4) Critical Competencies (must demonstrate)

Construction domain: Procore (BGSBCD54A546746768CC); Project Schedules; CPM scheduling concepts; Crew scheduling; Blueprint reading; RFIs/Submittals; Change orders; Cost control; Surveying & layout; Total station; AutoCAD Civil 3D; Traffic control/MUTCD; Trenching & excavation; Stormwater management (SWPPP concepts); Job Safety Analysis; Quality control.

Information governance: Document control in Procore (daily logs, photos, inspections); issue tracking; as-built records; adherence to contract documents and engineered specifications.

Productivity tools: Microsoft Office; mobile field apps; basic quantity takeoff/percent-complete tracking.

Mindset: Team leadership; communication; decision making; negotiation; problem solving; time management; detail oriented.


5) Qualifications

  • 3+ years of electrical/site/underground experience with increasing responsibility (lead/foreman/superintendent).
  • Demonstrated ability to plan work, direct crews/subcontractors, and hit schedule milestones.
  • Proficiency with Procore jobsite documentation and coordination with PM/PE for RFIs, submittals, and change events.
  • Working knowledge of drawings/specs; ability to interpret grades, utilities, and concrete details.
  • Competency with CPM concepts and look-ahead planning; basic Microsoft Project proficiency.
  • OSHA 30 and First Aid certifications; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and survey/total station workflows.
  • Valid driver’s license.


6) Performance Measure Buckets

  • Schedule adherence: percent of activities completed on plan; recovery plan effectiveness.
  • Safety: recordable rate, JSAs completed, corrective actions closed, traffic control compliance.
  • Quality: inspection pass rate; rework/defect rate; as-built/documentation completeness.
  • Cost/Productivity: earned vs. planned quantities; labor/equipment utilization; change documentation accuracy.
  • Documentation & communication: timely Procore logs/photos; RFI/issue turnaround; stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Team/Development: onboarding, training participation, coaching/mentoring contributions
