As a Progress Check Instructor (PCI), you will perform the duties of an evaluator, ensuring students understand and practice all aspects of the United Aviate Academy’s Aviation Safety Program. You will evaluate student progress in accordance with Airman Certification Standards (ACS), FAA regulations, the Training Course Outline (TCO), and UAA policies, maintain training records, and ensure students meet training requirements.

Key responsibilities include

  • Evaluating students to ensure quality and consistency of instruction. 

  • Maintaining student training records and ensuring FAA ACS course standards are met.

  • Recommending students for evaluation by a Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintain student training records in compliance with 14 CFR Part 141 and UAA policies.

  • Ensure course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met for all assigned students.

  • Recommend improvements to curriculum and courseware.

  • Foster a safe, caring, dependable, and efficient culture with students and staff.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Extensive understanding of 14 CFR, FSIMS 8900, and aviation regulations.

  • Multiple signoffs in a variety of courses with a high pass rate

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills (listening, oral, and written).

  • Customer service-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and aviation scheduling systems.

  • Knowledge of FAA regulations, United Airlines policies, and aviation best practices.

  • Ability to think strategically and translate concepts into actionable items.

  • Strong decision-making ability and professionalism.

  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
