Summary

Supports Material Management by performing inventory, purchasing, and administrative activities for the Tool Crib. Works closely with production, maintenance, shipping, and receiving to ensure tooling, MRO supplies, and equipment are available to support manufacturing operations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

This job includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Receive, store, and issue hand tools, machining tools, materials, and equipment to support production.
  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions and records within the inventory management system.
  • Track tools and equipment issued and returned through the company's inventory system.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist in investigating inventory discrepancies.
  • Coordinate Tool Crib activities to ensure timely availability of tooling and supplies based on production needs.
  • Obtain quotes for tooling and MRO items to support purchasing decisions.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions through the inventory system.
  • Maintain Tool Crib inventory and replenish stock as needed.
  • Prepare reports to monitor inventory levels, identify shortages, and follow up on overdue orders.
  • Assist the Materials Manager with vendor performance data and inventory reporting.
  • Mark and identify tools and equipment using tagging and stamping systems.
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements - Education / Experience

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Prior inventory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with tooling and preventative maintenance procedures preferred.
