The role involves managing cash transactions, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, and adhering to store policies and procedures to ensure a secure and pleasant shopping experience for customers. Key Responsibilities: - Greet customers warmly and assist them with inquiries to enhance their shopping experience. - Operate the point of sale (POS) system to process sales transactions, including cash, credit, and debit purchases. - Handle cash responsibly, make change accurately, and count the cash register at the beginning of each shift. - Assist customers with product information and location within the store. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area to ensure a welcoming environment. - Follow store policies and procedures, including security and loss prevention measures, to protect company assets. - Provide support in other areas of the store as needed, contributing to a team-oriented environment. Required Education: - High school diploma or equivalent preferred Required Experience: - Ability to handle cash responsibly and maintain confidentiality - Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently Preferred Experience: - Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus but not required - Basic math skills and attention to detail - Strong communication and interpersonal skills Required Skills and Abilities: - Ability to stand for extended periods - Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as needed - Comfortable bending, reaching, and performing repetitive motions
