Job Summary/Objective

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Shift Production Coordinator Manager will be responsible for the Gramercy plant's safe, efficient, and reliable day-to-day operation per established standards, procedures, and plans. To accomplish these objectives, the Shift Production Coordinator Manager oversees and coordinates technical processes and projects across units. The Shift Production Coordinator Manager must be able to communicate and closely collaborate with the Unit Managers, Technical Teams, Crew Managers, and Maintenance Supervisors to ensure daily and weekly schedule development and adherence to maintain good overall plant conditions. The ability to coordinate production adjustments is also critical.

Essential Functions

  • Lead a coordinator meeting and report to the entire organization via developed reports or as required during the shift, emphasizing priority setting that drives safety, environmental, quality, cost control, and production goals.聽
  • Act as an extension of the management and leadership team and proactively drive key results on the plant floor that are necessary for the business's success.聽
  • Oversee, prioritize, and coordinate the activities of the plant across all units and departments to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable day-to-day operation of the plant. Escalate important issues as required, depending on their criticality and severity.
  • Ensure all technical and quality KPIs and responses to alerts or deviations are appropriately followed across the plant site. Manage and drive appropriate usage and efficiency targets.
  • Lead unit startup, shutdown, and emergency operation activities in a safe manner.
  • Manage the process flow and production rates to maximize results while managing associated risk.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and standards, including the Management of Change (MOC) and business processes
  • Coach, mentor, develop, advise, and continuously support the workforce's needs.
  • Partner with Safety and Environmental to lead incident investigations, enter incident reports, and complete follow-up actions to improve future performance and prevent repeat occurrences.
  • Ensure all issues are communicated promptly, identify risk items, and define appropriate action plans.
  • Track and monitor operational and technical KPIs, report any deviation from targets, develop corrective actions, and work 聽聽聽聽聽effectively with the team to drive improvements
  • Decisions may impact a range of maintenance, operations, technical, and EH&S subject areas, requiring a risk-based approach to decision-making. They may also affect one or more process areas and must be made in consultation with other stakeholders.
  • Notify the plant and maintenance managers of abnormal operating situations or equipment malfunctions that affect efficient plant operation.
  • Assist the plant manager with maintenance coordination, management of changes, and procedure updates as required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Serve as an active member of the plant hurricane and freeze teams.

Education/Training Requirements

路 High School Diploma

路 A combination of education and experience in technical roles in an alumina refinery will be considered.

Work Experience Required :

  • Five (5) or more years of refinery experience is required
  • At least 3 years of prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.聽
  • Well-developed mechanical ability to inspect and perform troubleshooting activities on plant equipment is required
  • Demonstrated skills in task completion, leading an operating crew, and process unit troubleshooting are required
  • Good oral and written communication skills for dealing with other staff members, contractors, and the Operations Manager as well as Maintenance, EHS & the Lab

Special skills or knowledge preferred:

  • Knowledge of and experience with the Bayer Process is strongly preferred.聽
