Carew Concrete & Supply Co., Inc. is looking for a Diesel Fleet Mechanic to join our Appleton facility. If you enjoy troubleshooting, fixing equipment, working with your hands, and taking pride in keeping a fleet running safely and efficiently, we want you on our team! This is a full-time, year-round position with plenty of variety. From routine maintenance to major repairs, you'll play an important role in keeping our trucks and equipment ready to get the job done. WHAT YOU'LL DO Diagnose, repair and maintain a wide range of fleet vehicles and equipment. Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions, axles, gearboxes, brakes, steering, hydraulics and electrical systems. Perform preventative maintenance, including oil and fluid changes, greasing and routine inspections. Weld, fabricate and repair components as needed. Use cutting torches, welding equipment and a variety of shop tools. Respond to service calls and make repairs in the field when needed. Work closely with equipment operators and the Shop Supervisor to diagnose problems and determine efficient repair solutions. Communicate repair needs, expected completion times and equipment status. Complete required paperwork accurately and on time. Keep the shop, tools and work areas clean, organized and safe. Follow all company safety, environmental and quality standards. Work as part of a team to troubleshoot problems and keep equipment moving. Perform other duties as assigned.
