About the Role
True North Equipment is seeking an Advanced Ag Setup / Assembly Technician to join our IMPACT Center team. This role is responsible for assembling, setting up, and preparing new John Deere agricultural equipment for customer delivery while ensuring optimal performance.
The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical aptitude, technical expertise, and a passion for delivering high-quality equipment ready for the field.
You’ll Focus On
- Assembling new John Deere agricultural equipment, including tractors, combines, planters, sprayers, and implementsÂ
- Performing Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) and testing equipment to ensure proper operation prior to deliveryÂ
- Configuring and calibrating precision ag technology as neededÂ
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues during setupÂ
- Collaborating with service and sales teams to ensure seamless delivery and customer satisfactionÂ
- Maintaining accurate setup documentation, including software updates and adjustmentsÂ
- Following all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environmentÂ
- Staying current with John Deere training and advancements in ag technologyÂ
- Building and maintaining positive, professional relationships with teammates and customersÂ
- Representing True North Equipment with professionalism in all interactionsÂ
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMÂ
- Flex up to 5 hours of overtime per week based on workloadÂ
What We’re Looking For
- 5–10 years of experience in agricultural equipment assembly, setup, or serviceÂ
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skillsÂ
- Experience with John Deere equipment and precision ag technology preferredÂ
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentationÂ
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment softwareÂ
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and within a teamÂ
- Effective communication skills with both customers and team membersÂ
- Basic computer skills for data entry and software updatesÂ
- Physical ability to lift heavy parts, climb ladders, and work in various conditionsÂ
- Reliable attendance and a strong team-oriented mindsetÂ
Preferred Qualifications
- John Deere certifications or manufacturer-specific trainingÂ
- Welding and fabrication experienceÂ
