This role involves managing inventory, ordering, and stock levels while ensuring food safety and proper storage. The manager leads and schedules staff, maintains displays, controls shrink, coordinates with vendors, and drives sales through strategic pricing, promotions, and exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee the daily operations of the grocery, dairy, and frozen departments, ensuring efficient and effective management. - Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain optimal stock levels to meet customer demand. - Ensure compliance with food safety standards, proper storage practices, and product rotation. - Lead, schedule, and train department staff to achieve operational excellence and foster a positive work environment. - Maintain and organize product displays to enhance customer experience and drive sales. - Implement strategies to control shrinkage and reduce waste within the departments. - Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of quality products. - Develop and execute pricing and promotional strategies to boost sales and profitability. - Provide outstanding customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly. - Track sales performance and profitability, making informed decisions to improve department operations. - Utilize strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. - Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure seamless operations. QualificationsRequired Education: - High school diploma or GED Preferred Education: - Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in food service management, business, or retail management - Helpful Certifications: Food safety or handling certifications (e.g., ServSafe) Required Experience: - Minimum: 3–5 years of experience in retail or grocery Preferred Experience: - Prior experience as a Dairy, Frozen, or Grocery Clerk or Department Lead - 1–2+ years of supervisory or management experience - Experience with inventory control, ordering, and department operations Required Skills and Abilities: - Leadership - Knowledge of products and proper storage - Food safety, sanitation, and compliance - Inventory management, ordering, and stock rotation - Customer service - Track sales and profitability - Organizational and time-management - Physical stamina - Effective communication and coordination skills
