The Maintenance II will take hands-on lead in the installation, modification, design, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems. This position will often lead a team of one or more Maintenance I on projects. This role will also assist in mentoring Maintenance I staff to ensure technical excellence and operational efficiency.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety of employees and equipment.
  • Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance of equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Lead Maintenance I on projects as assigned
  • Maintain inventory of equipment parts to prevent lost time of production and promote overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms.
  • On call every other month.
  • Workers may assist in handling product weighing up to 50 pounds and lifting to a height of 5 feet.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Driver's License strongly preferred.
  • Experience or strong interest in repairs of small engines, pumps, generators, and related mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of basic hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
  • Leadership experience or ability to lead/mentor junior staff (e.g., Maintenance I) on projects.
  • Self-motivated with drive to improve processes, equipment, and structures.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Welding and fabrication basics.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., CMMS, work orders, Microsoft Basics).


Performance Requirements:

  • Must maintain a level of performance equivalent to company standards, that being a “Meets Expectations” in all areas of your performance evaluations (including but not limited to, Self and Management reviews).

Job Type: Full time, hourly, exempt. Starting at $24.00 per hour dependent on experience. Not inclusive of total compensation package.
