Description

Area Manager – Bulk Fuel & Oil

The Area Manager is responsible for the daily operations and performance of assigned bulk fuel and oil locations. This role provides hands-on leadership to site teams, ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations while supporting financial performance and local market growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned bulk plant locations. 
  • Supervise, coach, and support site managers and team members. 
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (EPA, OSHA, DOT). 
  • Monitor inventory levels, ordering, and product availability to meet customer demand. 
  • Coordinate logistics, deliveries, and fleet activities to ensure efficient service. 
  • Support customer relationships by maintaining a strong presence in the field. 
  • Identify and address operational issues, driving continuous improvement. 
  • Assist with implementing company policies, procedures, and operational initiatives. 
  • Support budgeting efforts and monitor site-level financial performance. 
  • Partner with sales to support customer retention and growth within the area. 


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience. 
  • 3–5 years of experience in operations, logistics, or a related field; industry experience preferred. 
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required. 
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. 
  • Experience with fuel, propane, lubricants, or related products preferred. 
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL with Hazmat endorsement. 
  • CTEP certification and in-depth product knowledge preferred


Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple locations and priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong knowledge around equipment maintenance and preventive care knowledge for trucks, trailers, fuel storage, and fuel dispensers.  
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. 
  • Basic financial and operational understanding. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational systems.
