Description

Confluence is seeking an experienced Environmental Field Safety Coordinator to join our Front Range team, supporting remediation and water quality projects across the Rocky Mountains. This is primarily an office-based position focused on coordinating and supporting field activities remotely, with potential travel to project sites for periodic safety audits.

We are looking for an environmental professional with proven experience in field operations and safety. In this role, you will ensure field staff are prepared to safely execute environmental compliance scopes of work, coordinating landowner and subcontractor site access, managing utility locate requests, and supporting safety oversight of ground disturbance activities through direct communication with field teams and occasional on-site audits.

This position is ideal for professionals who thrive on logistics coordination, clear communication across field and office teams, and keeping safety and access requirements on track for active projects. Responsibilities

  • Understand Health & Safety program requirements and support their execution by field staff. 
  • Coordinate utility locate (811) requests and manage responses/clearances prior to field work.
  • Coordinate client and landowner access to project sites.
  • Review scopes of work for completeness and adherence to safety requirements.
  • Support safety oversight of ground disturbance operations through direct coordination with field staff.
  • Maintain project tracking databases, spatial data, and coordinate deadlines.
  • Escalate safety concerns, access issues, or scope deviations to project management in real time.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in environmental field services, construction safety, utility coordination, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with health & safety programs and field safety protocols.
  • Experience with or working knowledge of 811/utility locate processes.
  • Comfortable coordinating remotely with landowners, subcontractors, and field staff.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and comfortable managing multiple concurrent site logistics.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, particularly around documentation and scheduling.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Home office with reliable internet connection, conducive to remote/office-based work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
  • Prior field experience on environmental drill rigs or excavation sites (soil borings, monitoring wells, excavations).
  • Experience with ECMC or other Colorado oil & gas regulatory requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational safety, or related field (not required, but a plus).
  • GIS experience.
