Caprock Academy is seeking A full time Substitute Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.. Caprock Academy is a public, tuition-free school chartered by the Colorado Charter School Institute and utilizes the timeless principles of classically oriented education. 


Caprock Academy follows the Core Knowledge© curriculum in grades K–8. This curriculum encompasses language arts, mathematics, science, history, geography, fine arts, and physical education. The curriculum is characterized by content-rich instruction, cumulative knowledge, content-specific lessons, and coherent sequencing. The foundation of our academics are rooted in classical education philosophy and pedagogy, following the grammar, logic and rhetoric trivium. The school’s mission is to help all students achieve their highest academic and character potential using proven, accelerated academic programs while providing a safe environment. This mission is achieved through our vision of strengthening the community through the involvement of parents, educators, and community leaders working together to provide an environment that fosters academic excellence and develops strong character in our students. This is a full-time, on-campus position supporting students in grades K–12 across all subjects, including special education. The Full-Time Substitute Teacher must be flexible and ready to step into a variety of roles as assigned each day. These may include classroom teacher, educational assistant, office personnel, special education support, or other school-based roles.


This position plays a key role in maintaining continuity of instruction and supporting a safe and structured school environment.

The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with duties that may include before- and after-school supervision. The schedule follows the school calendar and is based on designated student contact days.



FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Salary Exempt

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full Time

SALARY: $24,900 annually

WORK HOURS: 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Mon - Thurs

REPORTS TO: Executive Assistant to Head of School



Requirements

Essential Duties:

  • Implement teacher lesson plans
  • Help faculty to always supervise students.
  • Supervise playground duty before school, at recess, at lunch and after school as needed.
  • Aid teachers in drop off and pick up duty before and/or after school.
  • Facilitate the Pledge of Allegiance with students.
  • Take attendance.
  • Enforce school policies (ie. dress code, technology usage, etc).


Requirements


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma. Associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  • Experience working with students, preferred.
  • Desire and willingness to promote the mission and values of the school.
  • Demonstrated effective classroom-management skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively with peers and team members.
  • Professional and personal integrity and judgment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
