Safely Delivering Helium Across the Road Ahead

Job Title: Tube Trailer Driver – CDL Class A

Reports to: AWAI National Logistics Director

Location: Grand Prairie, TX or Grand Junction, CO

Salary Exempt: $85,000 - $100,000

Position Summary

The Tube Trailer Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery and pick-up of helium gas for American Gas Products, Inc. (AGPI). This role requires operating tractor-trailer combinations over 26,000 lbs., maintaining compliance with DOT regulations, conducting vehicle inspections, and accurately completing required documentation. The driver works closely with customers, wells, and vendors to coordinate deliveries, pickups, and equipment maintenance while providing excellent customer service. Candidates must be dependable, safety-focused, and able to travel over the road for multiple days, including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely delivery of helium gas to AGPI customers in a safe and secure manner based on variable routes and schedules.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Accurately record DOT required HOS, paperwork, Helium tank pressure, and temperature readings, and report information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conduct pre and post trip inspection of tractor, trailer, and load.
  • Pickup and drop off trailers, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed.
  • Ability to work over the road for multiple days, including weekends and holidays.
  • Cooperatively work with customers and wells on load deliveries and pick-ups.
  • Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned delivery vehicle including driving tractor-trailer combination with Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate schedules with vendors to ensure appropriate maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a positive, “can-do” attitude.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks and duties as assigned.

Driver Requirements and Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with HAZMAT and tanker endorsements. 
  • Clean driving record with no moving violations, DUI, or DWI convictions within the past seven (7) years. 
  • Valid DOT medical certificate. 
  • Completion of an accredited truck driving school and Entry Level Driver Training program required for candidates with less than one (1) year of experience operating trucks with a GVW over 26,000 lbs. 
  • Strong knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safe driving practices. 
  • Ability to safely transport hazardous cargo and work extended hours when required. 
  • Ability to read and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). 
  • Skilled in maneuvering and parking tractor trailers and other large commercial vehicles. 
  • Alert, focused, and detail-oriented with strong stress management and decision-making skills. 
  • Dependable, disciplined, and resourceful with a strong commitment to safety. 
  • Ability to pass random drug screenings. 
  • Ability to travel between United States and Canada
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Education, Experience & Certification

Certificate from an accredited school and completion of Entry Level Driver Training program, is preferred.
