About this Role

NorthStar Energy Solutions, a Quanta Services company, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful planning, coordination, and execution of electric utility construction projects. In this role, you'll work alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership to help deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget while ensuring exceptional service to our clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their project management career in the electric utility industry. This position may require occasional travel to project sites, extended hours during critical project phases, and work in both office and field environments.

What You'll Do

Project Planning & Coordination

  • Assist Project Managers with planning, scheduling, and coordinating electric utility construction projects.
  • Help develop and maintain detailed project schedules and monitor progress throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal teams to support successful project execution.

Estimating & Project Documentation

  • Support estimating efforts with takeoffs, proposals, and project submittals.
  • Prepare, track, and manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and project documentation.
  • Participate in client meetings, project planning sessions, and internal coordination meetings.

Project Tracking & Reporting

  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, resource availability, and key milestones.
  • Track permitting, Right-of-Way activities, material deliveries, and equipment status.
  • Prepare regular project status reports highlighting progress, risks, and potential challenges.

Operations Support

  • Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents to keep projects running efficiently.
  • Coordinate timesheets, invoices, purchase orders, expense reports, and procurement documentation.
  • Assist with material procurement and equipment logistics to support field operations.

What You'll Bring

  • Transmission line and/or substation experience is a strong plus.
  • Understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, and project documentation.
  • Familiarity with billing processes, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR) is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic field and office environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling software.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
