The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing the accurate and timely receipt, verification, storage, and shipment of raw materials and finished goods. This role ensures inventory accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk plays a key role in supporting on-time delivery performance and maintaining organized warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and delivery documentation
- Prepare, package, and process outgoing shipments in accordance with customer and carrier requirements
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP system and report discrepancies
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure material availability and shipment readiness
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and shipping regulations
- Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready warehouse and staging areas
- Other duties assigned by management
Key Deliverables:
- Accurate receipt and documentation of all inbound materials
- On-time processing and shipment of finished goods
- Maintained inventory accuracy with minimal discrepancies
- Compliance with all safety, documentation, and shipping requirements
- Organized and efficient warehouse operations
Reporting Structure:
- Reports To: Site Leader/Logistics & Warehouse Manager
- Direct Reports: None
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification (preferred)
Required Experience:
- 2–4 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics operations
- Familiarity with ERP systems and shipping documentation processes
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift materials and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing environment
Effort/Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
