About this position: 

The Enterprise Data Steward plays a key role in supporting LMCU’s Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) program by ensuring data quality, consistency, and compliance across assigned domains. This role focuses on implementing governance standards, maintaining metadata, and collaborating with business units to promote data fluency and trusted data assets. The steward will work closely with senior stewards, data engineers, and business stakeholders to operationalize governance practices and enable analytics modernization.

What you’ll do: 

  • Assist in maintaining the business glossary and data catalog for assigned domains.

  • Apply established data standards and quality rules to ensure consistency and accuracy.

  • Monitor data quality KPIs and escalate issues for resolution.

  • Partner with business units to improve data fluency and adherence to governance policies.

  • Participate in data design sessions and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.

  • Support onboarding of new data elements into governed processes.

  • Capture and maintain metadata for critical data elements (CDEs).

  • Document lineage and authorized data sources for assigned domains.

  • Define and Validate data against quality rules and report exceptions.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal governance requirements.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance governance processes and tools.

  • Contribute to governance training and awareness initiatives.

What you’ll bring:

  • 3–5 years of experience in data governance, data stewardship, or related data management roles.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field. 

  • Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, and business glossary practices.

  • Experience maintaining metadata for critical data elements, including lineage and authorized sources.

  • Proficiency monitoring and validating data quality using defined rules, KPIs, and escalation processes.

  • Familiarity with governance tools such as Collibra, Atlan, or Precisely, and basic SQL for data analysis.

  • Ability to apply data governance principles, policies, and frameworks across assigned domains.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with business and technical teams.
