Job Description:

To maintain equipment and building with focus on food safety, quality, and productivity in assigned facility/department. With main focus on Ammonia Refrigeration System. The Maintenance Ammonia Tech must have a strong working relationship with all departments and communicate, in a clear and professional manner, any issues that may occur throughout the facility.

Key Essential Functions/Duties:

  • Personal and co-worker safety as it pertains to Ammonia Refrigeration.
  • Food Safety
  • Enforce that all elements of food safety within the plant are being met
  • Ensure that all tools and equipment used is accounted for when completing a task.
  • Ensure that clothing worn does not become contaminated causing possible carrying of ingredients, especially allergens, to other areas.
  • Ensure the cleaning and sanitizing of tools and equipment when tasks are completed.
  • If any food safety issues are found, notify supervisor immediately.
  • Knowledgeable of GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Procedures) and other legal requirements for the Ammonia Refrigeration Industry.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and emergency repairs on your line to ensure your equipment is in proper order.
  • Assist production and sanitation with customer complaint issues.
  • Assist parts room personnel to maintaining key equipment spare parts inventory.
  • Must have a strong working relationship with production and sanitation.
  • Knowledge of OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Association) standards. PSM / RMP.
  • Ensure that the facility is ready for 3rd party or customer inspections.
  • Other duties as identified or assigned Maintenance Ammonia Supervisor

Education/Experience/Skills/Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of equipment and repair practices
  • Desire/willingness to learn and advance skills in the field of ammonia
  • Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Basic Operator Training Level 1.
  • Working knowledge of PSM / RMP procedures and program.
  • Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Basic Operator Training Level 2.
