This Role

Our Finance team is currently seeking an Accountant I. This will be a hybrid role residing within a commutable distance to our Grand Rapids, Michigan office.

What You Will Do

As an Accountant I you will be responsible for performing entry-level accounting tasks in support of financial operations. This position involves maintaining financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

How You Will Do It

  • Prepare and maintain financial records, ledgers, and reports.
  • Assist with general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
  • Support internal audits and financial reviews as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions in accounting software.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Support the finance team in ad-hoc projects and analyses.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Two years of accounting experience preferred can include internships or other entry level experience.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid that would require occasional trips to collaborate with the team at our Kentwood, MI office space.
