Key Responsibilities 


Strategic Leadership & Executive Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the CEO, supporting enterprise-level strategy, capital allocation, and long-term planning.
  • Actively participate as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, contributing a financial lens to operational, people, and growth decisions.
  • Translate business strategy into actionable financial plans, metrics, and performance indicators.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Sales & Marketing, and People & Culture to improve profitability, efficiency, and scalability.

Financial Strategy, Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial planning.
  • Develop and maintain financial models supporting growth initiatives, pricing strategies, capital investments, and operational improvements.
  • Deliver clear, timely, and actionable financial reporting, including:
    • Monthly financial statements
    • Variance and trend analysis
    • Cost and margin analysis
    • Cash flow projections
  • Translate complex financial data into practical insights for non-financial leaders.

Accounting, Controls & Compliance

  • Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
  • Design and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures appropriate for a growing mid-size organization.
  • Coordinate external audits, tax preparation, and regulatory filings.
  • Ensure effective risk management practices, including insurance coverage and financial controls.

Cost Management & Operational Finance

  • Lead company-wide cost management strategy in partnership with the Senior Cost Analyst.
  • Drive initiatives focused on:
    • Product costing and margin optimization
    • Operational efficiency
    • Waste reduction and continuous improvement
  • Enable data-driven decision-making through strong cost analytics and performance measurement.

Growth, M&A & Strategic Expansion

  • Play a lead role in evaluating growth opportunities, including acquisitions, partnerships, and new investments.
  • Conduct financial due diligence and valuation analyses.
  • Support post-acquisition integration from a financial and operational perspective.
  • Assess scalability of systems, controls, and processes to support future growth.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and IT organization.
  • Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and business partnership across finance and IT.
  • Ensure strong alignment between financial systems, data integrity, and technology enablement.
  • Support succession planning, cross-training, and professional development.

CEO / Family Enterprise Advisory Support

  • Provide limited financial oversight, reporting, and analytical support for the CEO’s affiliated family enterprises and investments.
  • Ensure clear boundaries, transparency, and appropriate governance between entities.
  • Serve as a confidential, trusted advisor on strategic financial matters.

Requirements

  

Education / Certificates / Licenses / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field required.
  • MBA and/or CPA required.
  • 10–15 years of progressive financial leadership experience.
  • Prior experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, or senior finance leader within a mid-size organization (approximately $100M–$500M in annual revenue).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting growth, scaling operations, strategic initiatives, and enterprise system enablement, including ERP platforms.
  • Experience with mergers, acquisitions, integrations, strategic expansion, and extensive ERP implementation, optimization, and deployment experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Deep understanding of financial strategy, accounting principles, FP&A, and cost management.
  • Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on when needed.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate financial insight into action.
  • Experience building financial systems, processes, and controls for growing organizations.
  • High degree of integrity, discretion, and sound professional judgment.

Working Environment

This position is located in a production/processing environment, which may involve:

  • Cold temperatures ranging from 45°F with occasional exposure to freezer environments as low as -10°F

  • Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety protocols
  • Primarily on-site, in-office role to support collaboration and leadership presence.
  • Occasional travel related to audits, acquisitions, or strategic initiatives.
