Job Summary:

As a member of the BDOADVANTAGE team, the Extraction Solutions Experienced Associate is responsible for supporting moderately complex data extraction and transformation efforts across multiple ERP systems. This role supports the design, development, and implementation of standardized ETL workflows, tools, and methodologies used by audit professionals. The position requires a strong technical foundation, the ability to solve complex data challenges, and a focus on improving data quality, consistency, and scalability.

The successful candidate will communicate effectively with a broad audience, demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and contribute to continuous improvement of extraction processes and solutions.

Job Duties:

  • Independently performs data extraction activities across various ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Sage)  
  • Builds, executes, and supports ETL workflows using tools such as Excel, Alteryx, SQL, or Power BI  
  • Performs data preparation tasks, including cleansing, formatting, and validating datasets  
  • Applies defined extraction procedures and follows established workflows and methodologies, adapting to address non-standard or ambiguous data challenges   
  • Identifies data inconsistencies, troubleshoots routine issues, and escalates complex issues to senior team members  
  • Documents extraction processes and maintains workflow documentation to support consistency and repeatability
  • Contributes to process improvements that enhance data quality, efficiency, and scalability of extraction solutions

  • Other duties as required

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, required; focus in Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, preferred 

Experience:

  • One (1) year of experience in data extraction, ETL development, required
  • Exposure to financial data environments or ERP systems, required 
  • Experience working with ETL tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, or SQL, required 

License/Certification:

  • N/A

Software:

  • Familiarity with data transformation and data preparation techniques, required  
  • Experience with one (1) or more of the following ETL resources, preferred 
    • Power BI, Fabric, or Alteryx 
    • Azure Data Factory or Databricks  
    • SQL Database  
    • MS Excel and Power Query 
  • Working knowledge of various ERP systems and accounting packages, preferred 

Language:

  • Ability to adapt and work effectively in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with growing independence

  • High level of curiosity and eagerness to learn new tools and technologies 
  • Ability to document processes clearly for team and engagement use 
  • Collaborative mindset with developing mentorship capabilities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy 
  • Ability to identify data anomalies and escalate issues appropriately 
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex data challenges 
  • Exposure to accounting, audit, or finance concepts

 

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $80,000 - $90,000
Maryland Range:  $80,000 - $90,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range:  $80,000 - $90,000
