Manufacturing Environment
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role supports production by performing preventive, scheduled, and emergency maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated equipment in a manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate has hands-on maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read technical documentation such as schematics, diagrams, and service manuals.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair
Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, welding, and fabrication repairs on production, packaging, and processing equipment
Troubleshoot equipment failures by observing operation, listening to sounds, and diagnosing mechanical or electrical issues
Install, test, and commission new machinery and auxiliary equipment
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve reliability
Respond to emergency breakdowns and unplanned maintenance events
Technical & Documentation
Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, service manuals, and work orders
Accurately document maintenance activities, labor hours, and equipment service records
Analyze data and perform basic mathematical calculations related to maintenance tasks
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Follow all safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain clean, organized work areas
Identify and report unsafe conditions or equipment
Follow all quality system and safety protocols
Collaboration & Communication
Communicate equipment issues, repair status, and production impacts with management and other departments
Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Contribute ideas for continuous improvement in maintenance processes, safety, and efficiency
Required Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred but not required)
Experience
1–2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Experience working with production machinery, conveyors, motors, and mechanical systems
Skills & Competencies
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
Ability to read and understand technical documentation and schematics
Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
Results-driven mindset with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Additional Expectations
Available for emergency repairs and breakdown situations as needed
Willingness to attend training and continuously develop technical skills
Maintain good housekeeping and tool organization

Work Environment
Manufacturing / industrial facility
Exposure to machinery, moving equipment, noise, and industrial materials
Physical requirements may include standing, bending, lifting, and working in confined spaces
