Position Summary:

New Product Launch Manager is responsible for leading collaborative, cross-functional teams on planning early deployments of new products and features, validating product/market fit, and driving feedback from Limited Releases back into Product Management and Development.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify launch objectives relative to organizational strategic objectives: Work with Product Management and Product Marketing to identify new product launch activities that are tied to critical organizational goals for growth, retention, or cost reduction. Develop goals for product launches that are aligned to those goals.
  • Establish project charters for new strategic products or features being released: Identify key stakeholders, critical objectives, timelines needed, and any project budget considerations necessary. Develop a charter for the Limited Release that supports target General Availability dates, organizational readiness, and successful product launch.
  • Act as chairperson for cross functional launch teams: Facilitate a cross-functional team dedicated to the successful Limited Release of new products. Establish rules of engagement, cadence for collaboration, best-practice tools for asynchronous work/communication, and alignment with the charter for the Limited Release.
  • Develop product and feature launch plans with Key Performance Indicators: Work with implementation and engineering resources to outline a project plan for initial product deployments that also deliver on organizational goals. Capture plans for validation of value proposition, methods for testing features and scale, and for preparing the organization for General Release. Outline metrics necessary for keeping launch projects on track with risk registers to capture mitigations when milestones are at risk.
  • Capture feature and documentation feedback based on Limited Release or early GA deployments: Act as another market input to product roadmap prioritization. During the Limited Release period or early adopter GA deployments, gather user or IT feedback that require adaptation of the product. Utilize the ideas portal to capture and track these product needs and to foster effective engagement with the Product Management and Engineering teams. Additionally, evaluate opportunities to enhance or adjust technical documentation to improve customer satisfaction and effective deployments.
