Dental Hygienists play an essential role in patient education and preventative dental care while also working in partnership with our doctors. We offer a work environment which is supportive and offers the chance to learn about a variety of technologies. Key Responsibilities:Â
Perform hygiene clinical procedures, including oral prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, sealants, fluoride, oral cancer screenings and x-raysÂ
Educate patients on the importance of oral hygiene, as well as instructions and demonstrations of effective oral hygiene methodsÂ
Communicate with doctor where there are opportunities in patients for restorative and/or periodontal needsÂ
Obtain and review dental history and/or records from patient (review patient health history and care slips) and ensure health history is updated for all returning patientsÂ
Qualifications:Â
Degree or certificate in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program and a valid state license Â
X-Ray/Radiology Certification where state regulations specifyÂ
Local Anesthesia/Nitrous Oxide certification where state regulations specifyÂ

Working Environment & Physical Requirements Â
This is a clinical working environment where potential exposure to hazardous waste and blood-borne pathogens is possible. Requires prolonged periods of standing, sitting, leaning, and bending up to 8 hours a day. Will be required to carry, transport, and use tools and equipment. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.Â
