Overview

This is a 2nd shift role that runs Monday through Friday from 2:45pm to 11pm.

 

The Chemical Packaging Plant is a fast-paced environment and high-volume operation, responsible for manufacturing cleaning products for BISSELL. 

 

As a Plastics Technician II, you will be part of a collaborative team with opportunities for career advancement by leveraging the BISSELL Skill System that allows for a variety of promotional paths.  In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop within a blow-mold bottle manufacturing process.  The process includes mixing resin, and blow-molding bottles by following standard operating procedures and conducting quality checks.  In addition, you will assist in the changeover of mold changes, perform basic preventative maintenance, and intermediate troubleshooting to drive production efficiency.

 

You will be responsible for training other team members on technical skills and standard operating procedures while also providing team member feedback to support their development.


Responsibilities

  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring a heightened focus on safety and reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Start-up and shut-down equipment, monitor performance, efficiently operate equipment, complete required documentation, complete minor changeovers and assist with major changeovers.
  • Report issues when they arise – this should be done quickly to minimize any impact on the efficiency of production.
  • Ensure product quality according to specifications and complete basic troubleshooting to resolve quality and performance issues.
  • Complete basic preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Actively support continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives.
  • Train and develop Plastics Technician I associates on technical skills as it relates to safety, quality, and operational expectations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Equipment Used:
Blow-mold machines, resin mixers, blowers, trimmers, leak checkers, grinders, and conveyors, Powered Industrial Truck.
 

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma/GED or relevant experience in lieu of
  • Must be capable of lifting 0 – 50 lbs.
  • Judgement and decision-making skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Focus on learning versatility and personal development.
