Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital provides nationally ranked pediatric care with over 350 pediatric specialists and subspecialists. The Respiratory Therapist applies scientific knowledge and therapy to practical clinical problems of respiratory care. As a team member under medical direction, performs a wide range of procedures related to the care of patients with general and specialized respiratory-related needs of various age groups. Responsibilities include evaluating respiratory care needs, making recommendations, assessing treatment effectiveness, performing advanced therapeutic procedures, documenting accurately, completing required education and competencies, facilitating patient transitions, and instructing other staff and students. Qualifications include an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor's preferred), 2 years of relevant experience, and required certifications such as CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry, Basic Life Support, State of Michigan Respiratory Therapist License, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support. The position is full-time, night shift (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.), with 36 weekly scheduled hours and every other weekend work.
