About Us:

Trinity Health is a leading provider of mental health and behavioral services dedicated to supporting individuals in their journey to mental well-being. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - RN to join our team at our Behavioral Health Crisis Center.

Position Overview:

With a shared vision Trinity Health Grand Rapids and Network 180 are standing up a Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC), including a Crisis Stabilization Unit and a Behavioral Health Brief Intervention service to serve residents of Kent County. As an RN at our Behavioral Health Crisis Center, you will play a crucial role in the assessment, intervention, and care of individuals experiencing acute behavioral crises. Your expertise will contribute to creating a safe and supportive environment for clients in need, as well as collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals.

What you will do:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' physical and mental health status upon admission.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other team members to develop personalized crisis intervention and stabilization plans.
  • Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by medical professionals.
  • Monitor clients' progress and respond effectively to changes in their condition.
  • Provide emotional support, psychoeducation, and coping strategies to clients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation and records.

What you will need:

  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing school and program
  • Associates Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred. 
  • In Grand Rapids if ADN must enroll in BSN program within 6 months of hire and complete in 4 years of hire
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in a mental health or crisis intervention setting.
  • Strong understanding of mental health conditions, crisis intervention techniques, and trauma-informed care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick and informed decisions.
  • Empathetic and nonjudgmental approach to working with individuals in crisis.
