The primary purpose of your job position is to provide each of your assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisors. Essential duties include identifying residents before administering treatments, using authorized abbreviations, reporting changes in resident condition, recording entries on flow sheets and charts, reporting accidents and incidents, maintaining confidentiality of resident information, performing trained nursing care procedures, preparing resident rooms, greeting and escorting residents, assisting with personal possessions and transfers, creating a warm and calm environment, participating in nursing reports, following policies on exposure to blood/body fluids, making beds, measuring and recording vital signs, checking residents frequently, assisting with food arrangements and intake recording, keeping water pitchers filled, performing after meal care, cooperating with facility personnel, reporting occupational exposures, assisting with daily functions such as dental care and dressing, keeping residents dry, assisting with medical tests, lifting and moving residents, performing restorative procedures, observing and reporting skin conditions and injuries, performing special treatments, reporting missing residents, using trained equipment, reporting defective equipment, reporting abuse and misappropriation, honoring resident treatment refusals, and maintaining confidentiality. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications include a minimum 10th grade education, ability to read and interpret business and technical materials, write reports and correspondence, apply mathematical concepts, solve practical problems, and must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with state laws. CPR certification is preferred. Physical demands include occasional lifting/moving up to 25 pounds, prolonged computer use, and regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, reading, and hearing. The work environment is usually low to moderate noise level. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
