Field Service Technician

Description

Illinois Electric Works is seeking a talented and dedicated Field Service Technician. This position provides our customers with on-site services that pertain to electric motors, blowers, pumps, gearboxes, fans, compressors, and dust collectors.

This position consists of working at our customers’ industrial facilities to provide the following services:

Electric Motors:

· Electric motor troubleshooting

· Removal and installation

· General condition inspections 

· Large and small motor outage work

· Bearing repairs

Pumps:

· Pump removal and installation, 

· adjusting packing glands and mechanical seals, 

Blowers:

· General inspections and Repairs

· Bearing replacements and condition inspections

Compensation: 

• $30 to $45 per hour, depending on experience
• Benefits including eligibility for Medical, Dental, Vision insurance, 401 (k) program with employer match
• Paid overtime and double time
• Use of a company vehicle

Requirements

 Job Requirements:

· Safety conscious

· Valid drivers license with a clean driving record

· Minimum 5 years’ mechanical experience with industrial equipment

· Understanding of electric motors, wire connections, troubleshooting

· General Blower knowledge and ability to perform general repairs 

· Familiar with different types of pumps 

· Ability to read and understand general blueprints and drawings

· Own your own general personal hand tools 

· Solve problems independently, “manage multiple tasks”

· Able to work out of town with overnight stays 

· Discussions with customers

Preferred Skills:  

• Knowledge of predictive maintenance equipment
• Vibration data collection
• Motor and fan balancing
• Performing Laser alignments
• Knowledge of using an infrared camera for thermal inspections
