Summary:

This position is responsible for the appropriate application and quality of paint to all painted parts and understands the paint line process from start to finish. The position supports improvements in the paint line process to increase efficiency and the efforts for the reduction of setup times, part scrap and rework time. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The responsibilities listed below are not intended to be all-inclusive.

  • Helps maintain all company safety regulations to provide a clean, accident-free and healthy work environment.
  • Monitor and maintain chemical concentration of Wash System. Submit report to Crew Leader each week. 
  • Ability to read and understand formulas and follow written and verbal directions.
  • Knowledge of programming the computer-operated painting tools.
  • Advise of any fluctuation in readings and make adjustments based on review with Crew leader.
  • Watch and maintain Filter elements that will plug and deplete water flow in heat exchange operation.
  • Complete knowledge of Start Up and Shut Down Procedures
  • Complete Color Changes in the Gemma Booth
  • Have a working knowledge of operation procedures of Wash System Interface and be able to Activate/Deactivate individual stages based on production requirements.
  • Confers with the Crew Leader and Team Leader on any problems regarding safety, quality, production, or inventory issues.
  • Ability to disassemble, clean, reassemble, and maintain powder coating application equipment.
  • Support Pioneer Manufacturing efforts in the reduction of scrap and downtime.
  • Maintain the correct product identification for efficient processing of work orders and identifying product.
  • Maintain accurate cycle recounts by conducting weekly cycle counts of powder paint.
  • Confers with the Crew leader on work orders, routings and job orders for the delivery of work in process and makes sure that the raw materials and hardware are in the proper sequence for efficient production. This includes planning ahead to ensure the tools and materials are in place to be efficient.
  • Promotes departmental problem solving through teamwork. Helps find root cause fixes and implements them by using the current processes such as Engineering change requests, maintenance request forms, or tooling request forms through the Crew leader or Team Leader.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement Activities and processes. (i.e.: Engineering change or tooling requests).
  • Executes completion of work orders to meet their production due date.
  • Reads work orders or blueprints and receives direction on the sequence of assembling.
  • Maintains all products are correct to meet all customer quality standards.
  • Additional duties may be assigned on an as required basis.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years assembly and paint line experience.
  • Ability to measure and mix paint as required by the work order.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: 

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret the English language. 
  • Associates must have the ability to communicate internally and externally effectively and efficiently.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with the variety of situations which occur in the daily Application of powder. 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or work order form or blueprints. 
  • Strong attention to details. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Must possess basic math skills.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

  • Frequent manual and finger dexterity required by the daily use of hand tools.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, reach, crouch, or kneel.
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds regularly.
